Living in harmony with the environment

ART-KLIMA operates in accordance with the basic tenets of the Panasonic corporation, which  is strongly committed to the idea of manufacturing environmentally friendly products within the framework of three aspects of environmental protection: prevention of global warming, efficient use of natural resources and chemical waste management.

As part of the prevention of global warming, we place special emphasis on increasing the production of equipment

with the highest energy efficiency and phasing out low-efficiency products.

In the “environmentally friendly home” project, which realizes a lifestyle with virtually zero CO2 emissions, we offer a wide range of solutions to ensure comfort with minimal electricity consumption, and introduce products and services using our original technologies.

To meet the challenge of spreading high-efficiency appliances, Panasonic is promoting the development of energy-saving systems such as heat pumps, fuel cells, solar-powered generators and also allowing the storage of obtained energy.

Clean environment of the future

Panasonic has become the most innovative and environmentally friendly company in the consumer electronics industry. An important part of Panasonic's business is its concern for the environment in both its daily life and business operations.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION MANAGEMENT

The SEG (Smart Energy Gateway) device connects affiliated energy sources to smart devices via a network
wireless network and server.

POWER GENERATION

Solar and fuel cells make it possible to obtain clean energy efficiently.

ENERGY STORAGE

Lithium-ion batteries.

ENERGY SAVING

Products with minimal energy consumption and high efficiency: LED and ESL lighting, heat recovery systems (ERV), air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerator-freezers and heat pumps.

While, CO2 reduction is widely promoted, we propose a lifestyle with virtually zero CO2 emissions within the entire building! Such a significant reduction in CO2 emissions is made possible by the use of energy-efficient household appliances and excellent building insulation. A combination of solar generators, fuel cells and batteries will be used to generate and store the required energy. Thanks to an energy consumption management system, using all of the aforementioned elements and carefully controlling the energy balance, it is possible to realize a lifestyle with virtually zero CO2 emissions. However, in order to fully realize the idea of comfortable living in a clean environment, it is necessary to use air, light, water and heat wisely. Let us experience the unique lifestyle offered by Panasonic.

DESIGN OF THE WHOLE CITY ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY ECO-CITY OF TIANJIN

Panasonic is taking part in a pioneering project to create the Tianjin Eco-city. Located 40 kilometers from downtown Tianjin and 150 kilometers from Beijing, the center is being built in cooperation between China and Singapore. The environmentally sustainable Tianjin Eco-city is designed as a practical model, to be scaled and replicated in other cities in China. The establishment of the center demonstrates both countries' commitment to environmental protection and energy and resource conservation. By 2020, the city will cover an area of about 30 square kilometers with a population of about 400,000.

HOME ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Each home in the Tianjin Eco-City will be equipped with a mini-VRF air-conditioning system with Panasonic's Home Energy Management System (HEMS). To reduce energy consumption in individual apartments, the HEMS system is designed to be central to the entire building. The system totals the total amount of energy consumed, taking into account household appliances, solar power generators, electric car chargers, batteries and other devices. The user will receive information on the degree to which the set savings plans have been met, as well as suggestions for further opportunities to reduce energy consumption. The information will be able to be read on all monitors used in the house, so residents will be more conscious about using electricity and getting used to an environmentally friendly lifestyle.

SUSTAINABLE SMART CITY FUJISAWA

Panasonic is transforming its former factory sites in the city of Fujisawa, located 50 kilometers west of Tokyo, into a smart city by placing energy utilization systems built on environmentally friendly ideas. The project is being carried out in cooperation with eight other corporations and the Fujisawa city government. The city will accommodate 1,000 households located on an area of more than 19 hectares. Close cooperation between the developers and the manufacturing and service companies involved in the project is envisioned at every stage of design and construction. The homes will be equipped with a range of state-of-the-art systems from Panasonic for energy acquisition, storage and management. By generating energy using efficient solar modules and fuel cells and storing it in capacious lithium-ion batteries, the buildings will be completely self-sufficient. Both energy-efficient lighting, air-conditioning and household appliances will be connected to a computer system that will display information about energy consumption and energy-saving tips on TV and computer monitors.
