Air Conditioning Systems - VRF
2 and 3-pipe systems ECOi EX ME2 series
New levels of energy efficiency, performance, reliability and comfort.
Panasonic's range of VRF systems includes small mini VRF systems, large extended 2 and 3-pipe VRF systems operating in either a freon or water system.
High performance under extreme conditions
ECOi EX are highly reliable units with high cooling and heating capacity, even when operating at extreme ambient temperatures. The units can operate at 100% capacity at 43°C, achieving excellent cooling efficiency down to 52°C and heating efficiency down to -25°C*. The newly designed heat exchanger features an anti-corrosion coating, improving efficiency even in coastal areas. A silicone coating on the circuit board protects the unit from damage by environmental factors such as moisture and dust.
Above-average flexibility
With piping lengths of up to 1,000 metres, a maximum height difference between indoor units of up to 30 metres and a distance between outdoor and indoor units of up to 90 metres, the number of design options increases exponentially. This makes the ECOi EX units the ideal air-conditioning solution for extensive buildings such as railway stations, airport terminals, schools or hospitals. In addition to the above advantages, the indoor units are available in a wide range of models and capacities, making it easier to select the ideal solution for any project. Careful selection of controls and peripherals, such as refrigerant pump-out function, air handling unit and/or chiller, allows optimum use of the system. The maximum allowable system oversizing factor reaches 200%. VRF systems with exceptional energy efficiency and high output - SEER 7.56 (18 hp model).
Exceptional levels of performance and comfort
The ECOi EX system is designed to increase energy efficiency by providing a high SEER value and high efficiency during part-load operation. The system provides lower energy costs and operational flexibility through the use of independently controlled inverter compressors on all models. ECOi EX units also feature a larger heat exchanger with a 3-layer working surface for improved heat transfer and a newly designed curved and funnel-shaped air outlet section with improved aerodynamics. The three-stage design of the oil recovery system minimises the frequency of forced oil recovery, ensuring lower energy costs without compromising comfort.
Advanced energy-saving features
The latest VRF, GHP, hybrid and commercial split air-conditioning systems have been fitted by default by Panasonic with a highly sophisticated BMS from the factory.
With this solution, we can drastically reduce operating costs - by up to 50-80% compared to standard and competitive solutions.
Summary of examples of advanced energy-saving features:
- Possibility of narrowing the temperature setting ranges
- Possibility of tracking the presence and activity of people in the premises
- Possibility of limiting the power consumption of the system
- Automatic return to dedicated setting
- Monitoring of the electricity consumed for the air conditioning system.
- Possibility to change the cooling capacity of the indoor unit
- Individual time programmes can be set
- Possibility of setting a time interval for the automatic switch-off function
- Standby function
- Possibility of locking internal devices
- Remote monitoring of failures with precise fault code determination
- Possibility of full remote supervision (monitoring and control) via the Internet
Where can we use VRF air conditioning systems ?
Panasonic VRF air-conditioning systems can be used virtually anywhere there is a demand for cooling and heat and we want to use electricity to power the system.
The range of Panasonic equipment and control and automation solutions is so large that there are virtually no limitations. We can use water or Freon systems, we can jointly manage electrically-powered systems, gas-electric hybrid systems or gas-only systems. The range of indoor units is very extensive. This includes dx air curtains, air handling unit kits, the most advanced BMS on the market with advanced energy saving features and energy recovery options for central heating and central t. or w. u.
1. Existing buildings with limited space to run refrigeration plant
Due to the much smaller diameter of the refrigeration pipeline compared to standard chilled water systems, these systems are ideal for existing buildings where the scale of the refurbishment of the premises requires minimal investment or for buildings in which we want to make maximum use of the available floor space.
2. Buildings where VRF systems will be used for both cooling and heating.
Due to their very wide operating range in both heating and cooling mode, Panasonic systems are ideally suited to buildings where they are to be the primary cooling as well as heating system.
3. buildings with high load variability especially during transitional periods
The VRF system is designed to adapt perfectly to the current demand of the building. In the Panasonic system, we have a common cooling plant for both heating and cooling and can change the operating mode from heating to cooling and vice versa several times a day - this is particularly important during the transitional periods of spring, autumn.
4. intelligent buildings with advanced automation - if you want ultra-low running costs
Our systems have factory-built advanced automation for optimised and dramatically reduced running costs in both cooling and heating modes. We can achieve up to 3-5 x lower running costs compared to standard systems
